DECATUR, IL — Today, Betsy Dirksen Londrigan was endorsed by the MetroDecatur Black Chamber of Commerce, an organization representing African-American small businesses in and around Decatur.

“I’m so proud that small business owners across Decatur and the MetroDecatur Black Chamber are endorsing my campaign for Congress,” Londrigan said. “In Congress, I'll work with community and local officials to bring new businesses and economic development to Decatur. I'll always look out for the best interests of small businesses, which form the foundation of our local economy.”

“Your support of our small businesses, strong record of public service, commitment to our community and other matters affecting working families are significant reasons why MetroDecatur Black Chamber is endorsing your candidacy,” Wole Adeoye, President of MetroDecatur Black Chamber said to Londrigan. “This endorsement is also a signal to the diverse membership of the chamber that you will be a partner with us in finding solutions to the state’s challenges.”

Last week, Congressman and civil rights leader John Lewis rallied Decatur voters to the polls alongside Londrigan, saying, “Betsy is going to make you proud. She will emerge as a leader in Congress.” Londrigan also met with workers at IBEW Local 146 in Decatur alongside Congressman Dan Kildee (MI-05) earlier this week to discuss the importance of protecting Social Security and Medicare, which Rep. Rodney Davis’ party leaders want to cut in order to pay for their $2 trillion tax giveaway to big corporations and the wealthy.
