Londrigan Outraises Incumbent by Nearly $1M, Erases Davis Cash on Hand Advantage
SPRINGFIELD, IL – In case you missed it, Betsy Dirksen Londrigan raised over twice as much as Rep. Rodney Davis this past quarter, by nearly $1 million. It marks the second quarter in a row in which Londrigan has outraised the three-term incumbent. This time, Londrigan raised nearly $1.7M to Davis' $702,906. Further, 73% of Londrigan's dollars came from individuals, while 72% of Davis' contributions came from PACs. Londrigan has also now nearly pulled even with her opponent in total raised for the cycle, and has erased his cash on hand advantage.
"I am humbled by the outpouring of support that I have received throughout this campaign, from across the district," said Londrigan. "Whether it's the doors knocked, hard-earned dollars given, or calls made, folks are fired up and ready for change in Illinois' 13th Congressional District."
This announcement follows a week of momentum for the Londrigan campaign. Polls show the race virtually tied, and Londrigan was endorsed by the St. Louis Post-Dispatch because of her political independence and the fact that she is "more likely to march to her own drummer."
